School in College Station is coming to a close, and summer is right around the corner! For most people that means sleeping in late, long days by the pool, and family vacations. Summer can also be a time where people slack on their oral hygiene. Here are some things to remember while enjoying your summer activities.
1. Make sure to brush your teeth 2 times a day.
-Even if you sleep in until 12, don’t skip brushing in the morning!
2.Drink lots of water and less sugary drinks.
- Drinks like soda, sweet tea, and lemonade contain lots of sugar which can cause tooth decay. They are also acidic in nature, which can cause enamel erosion. Diet drinks may not contain sugar, but they are still acidic, which can cause damage to the enamel.
3. Eat crunchy fruits and vegetables.
- Carrots, celery, and apples are snacks that keep teeth healthy. They help to remove plaque that has built up on the teeth.
We hope everyone has great summer. Don’t forget to visit your dentist every 6 could you get herpes from kissing months!
